Privacy policy

healthandai.info is a personal publication run by Daniel Elie Khoury. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address, and a securely hashed password if you create one.
- Google or LinkedIn sign-in: if you choose one, that provider shares your name, email address and profile photo. We never see your password there, and we can't post on your behalf.
- Comments you post, which are shown publicly with your name and photo.
- Email subscription: your email address, and when and how you gave consent.
- Visit statistics: we count page views (the page, the site you came from, your country and whether you use a phone or a computer) without cookies. Your IP address is not stored: a one-way code that changes every day is used only to count visitors.
How we use it
Only to run the site: to sign you in, show your comments, and (if you opt in) send one email when a new article is published. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Service providers
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, emails are sent through Resend, and Google and LinkedIn provide optional sign-in. These providers may process data outside Canada, including in the United States.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email with one click, or on your account page.
- Edit your name or delete your account (and its comments) on your account page.
- Ask for a copy of your information or a correction by emailing danieleliekhoury@gmail.com.
Retention
We keep your information while your account or subscription is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and comments. When you unsubscribe, we keep a record of the unsubscribe so we don't email you again.
